Just so you know: The re-saving of the file as is suggested by MB 2009, works. Obviously this is not a realistic workaround solution, as you perhaps don't have previous versions of MotionBuilder lying around like an Autodesk employee would. Saving the file using MotionBuilder 6, 7 or 7.5, after performing a FILE > OPEN with your scenes resulted in a MotionBuilder 2009-compatible FBX file.
